Would you live next to Nuclear Towers? I know I wouldn’t and neither would the people of Frick’s Lock Pa. Located next to the Limerick Nuclear power plant this ghost town is made up of a few boarded up houses and a road to nowhere. It’s a pleasant walk through with no tourists or real security that I was aware of. There were a few No Trespassing signs but no barbed wire or anything else except a simple pole gate to keep you from driving out into the now deserted town. The houses (about 10-11) are falling apart and the town's mood is one out of a post apocalyptic or zombie movie scene. Once you get out of your car and explore a little it’s very easy to see why the town was deserted. It’s right next to the power plant and there are power lines that you can hear buzzing VERY loudly. Exploring this ghost town was almost too easy there were even people walking their dogs through as though it was just a normal town. It was a little surreal seeing other people on this obviously long deserted street. This was the first Ghost Town I had ever been through and it was really cool to find one only an hour and half away from Philadelphia. It wasn’t very creepy it was actually more of a roadside oddity than a scary ghost town. I have heard rumors that Chester County was trying to turn the place into a historical village, but with those lines I don’t think it would be healthy for people to work there. I wonder if they would name it “Nuke Town” and sell weird T-Shirts with a cooling tower or if they would make it a mall type place with commercial big chain stores. In a hundred years it too may be abandoned. Time will tell. Frick’s Lock ghost town is off of Route 724 near Spring City.
